As Election Day approaches, 7th Grade students went on a Democracy in Our Town Scavenger Hunt as part of their Social Studies classes. They located political signs and evaluated what messages the signs conveyed.
Students documented those signs that indicated who was running, what position they were running for, and how that position fits into our governmental framework. Or students assessed the messages and arguments embedded in other political signage.
What a great opportunity to get outside, to take a careful and intentional look around, and really evaluate the realities of our political system in action. Thanks, Mr. Filieo, for organizing this Democracy in Action Adventure!
