Second-grade students at Pond Cove Elementary school are in the middle of a three-week block of technology integration. Their first activity involves the app FlipGrid, a fantastic (and FREE) educational video recording app.
FlipGrid allows students to video in small segments. This allows the recorder a chance to organize their thoughts throughout the recording. The published video is then shared safely on a teacher account that only the teacher and students have access to.
Not only is FlipGrid safe and fun (there are lots of fun filters and options) but students from both cohorts, Maroon and Gold, can see each other's videos and even leave positive comments letting each other know how great of a job they did.
Second graders chose a nonfiction book and shared their choice as well as three facts with their class.
