Letter from the Presidents

Dear Parents,

Keep an eye on the school emails. There are plenty of school activities happening. We do our best to get them into our newsletter, but we may miss a few.

January 31st is the 7th/8th grade dance. The Student Council has asked us to help find 4 chaperones. The chaperoning duties are to collect the admissions and stamp hands of all students entering, and to prevent students from wondering about the school. It's a very easy evening, grab a couple of friends, enjoy the music. Parents are not allowed inside the cafetorium during the dance, as you are needed to keep on eye on the surrounding hallways and doors. Both Heather and Jen have chaperoned and it can be a blast. If you are interested in helping that evening, please reach out to Jen Pollick or Heather Reeves.

The Basketball Bonanza is coming right around the corner. There are a couple of key volunteer positions needed. If you'd like to take on these positions please contact Basketball Bonanza Diane Woods.
1. Concessions: This is run by the 6th grade parents for fundraising for Chewonki - It's the last big push of fundraising for this anticipated trip.
2. Raffle: This is run by the 5th grade parents. A fundraiser for the Freedom Trail trip.

  • 23 - Deadline for students to sign-up for Indoor Track and Swimming

Substitute Teachers Needed

The process to become a substitute teacher has been made easier for district parents. Being a substitute in the district is a great way to "be in the know" of the district happenings. You don't have to sub in your child's classroom or grade. Assignments can be chosen the week or day before or even as late as the morning of. Some assignments are half days (mornings or afternoons). If you are interested in learning more you can check the link below or contact any of our district principals. The Middle School is in particular need for substitute teachers, with only a few on sight staff members on any given day to cover absent teachers, it is imperative that the district build it's base of subs. This is not a volunteer position, you get paid!
