
More than 65 students gathered at 7 am last Tuesday morning to plan for the first Haunted Hallway event at CEMS since 2016. There was a lot if enthusiasm and creative brainstorming going on for this MSPA sponsored event. More details will follow soon!



Graffiti Hallway @ CEMS!! Grade 5-8 art students celebrated the return to school with large multimedia graffiti words and names.

On Thursday and Friday this week, the 8th grade teams of Price, Briggs, Hyde and Noreus did some community service work with CELT, clearing some local trails of invasive plant species. Great work 8th grade team!

AFTERTHOUGHT is based on a concept developed her Freshman year by Hadley and her classmate and fellow senior, Eliza Green.
Hadley has been workshopping and rehearsing since this past January with a cast and crew of over 40 students and professional musicians and artists.
AFTERTHOUGHT will be presented Thurs - Sun, 9/28 - 10/1, at the CEHS Auditorium.

School District distributes 130 fans to the three schools to help beat the heat!

**4:30PM 8/21/23 update: We believe the issue to be resolved and public access restored.**The district is working to resolve an issue affecting the network connection to the schools. For families, this means a loss of access to PowerSchool.

Not to worry - the Fire Department is assisting the Facilities Department identify masonry leaks this morning starting at 9 am Thursday.

The Facilities Department is hard at work! The majority of the floors get stripped and then lay 8 coats of wax/sealer before the start of school.

Please save the date, register, and come together as a community for an untimed 5K run/walk benefiting Andrew “Sal” Perruzzi. Sal, a CEHS junior and cross country team member, was recently diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma. All proceeds will go directly to the Perruzzi family. This event is student led and organized by the 2023 CEHS cross country team captains and the Class of 2024 student council. The race is set for May 28th at 9:00 a.m. and will start at Cape Elizabeth Middle School, following the same 5k course utilized by the Turkey Trot and Cape Challenge. Race t-shirts will be provided to registered participants. Sal is known for sporting his signature shades while running, so we ask that all participants race in sunglasses. General donations may also be made on the registration site. Come together, cherish each day, do good, Run for Sal!


As you may remember, we had two finalists for he 2023 Maine Literary Award!! Please join us in congratulating Sashi Kaufman on her win!


The Special Olympic team with their entourage traveled to Bonny Eagle for the Cumberland County Track and Field Meet on Friday May 12. Henry Adams, Allison Brooking, Emily Whalen, Maddie Mills and Evan Zack all earned ribbons for the 100m, 50m, shot put and standing long jump. They displayed great sportsmanship and teamwork throughout the event. The entourage did a great job supporting and cheering on the athletes. Thanks to everyone's effort the day was great fun and a huge success.
