On Saturday, October 6th, 100 of our 5th grade students had one-on-one mini-lessons on their new band instruments. It was a day filled with excitement and new skills. Thank you for the MSPA and Music Boosters for helping make this annual event a success!
We wanted to take a moment to congratulate CEMS PE teacher Ms. Jordan and her students for the Heart of Gold Top School Award! This award is given to schools that achieve top status with the Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge. The 5th and 6th raised $7755.00 last year!! This year the 5th and 6th will be fundraising again this year each trimester... more information to come!

Three CEHS students served on an informal panel to discuss their aquaculture-related businesses/ideas to a team of 7th graders in the CEMS library @ 9:30-10:20 on Friday, 9/29. This is part of the Kerr/Kaufman unit on aquaculture and the Gulf of Maine ecosystem. More than 65 students gathered at 7 am last Tuesday morning to plan for the first Haunted Hallway event at CEMS since 2016. There was a lot if enthusiasm and creative brainstorming going on for this MSPA sponsored event. More details will follow soon!

On Thursday and Friday this week, the 8th grade teams of Price, Briggs, Hyde and Noreus did some community service work with CELT, clearing some local trails of invasive plant species. Great work 8th grade team!

AFTERTHOUGHT is based on a concept developed her Freshman year by Hadley and her classmate and fellow senior, Eliza Green.
Hadley has been workshopping and rehearsing since this past January with a cast and crew of over 40 students and professional musicians and artists.
