The Payne/Killip team presented their projects about the trees of Turkey Hill Farm on Sunday, October 21, at CELT’s annual board meeting. This project includes several weeks of study about the importance of trees in Maine history, with a focus on Wabanaki usage and the tree’s current use in the Maine lumber industry. Students were also asked to be able to identifying the unique characteristics of the tree’s bark, leaves or needles, seeds, nuts, or pine cones. Finally, students were asked to send a message from their trees perspective to the world.
